Nathaniel T. Jest, DO, believes in treating his patients the way he would want to be treated. He listens to his patients, addressing their concerns while promoting health and well-being.
As a gastroenterologist, Dr. Jest provides general digestive health care including but not limited to treatment for celiac disease, constipation, diverticular disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, fatty liver disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastritis, gastroparesis, hepatitis, inflammatory bowel diseases including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, microscopic colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic pancreatitis and peptic ulcer disease. He is skilled at performing colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, small bowel enteroscopy and video capsule endoscopy.
Dr. Jest earned his medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. He went on to complete both his residency and fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville and was named Fellow of the Year. He is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
Dr. Jest has published scholarly articles including TIPS Effectively Treats Refractory Hepatic Hydrothorax and Contemporary Practice Patterns and Outcomes After Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt Placement.
In his free time, Dr. Jest enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling, hiking, playing the guitar and snowboarding.
